The project cleared the existing sand from the park and installed engineered wood fiber plus drainage to make it easier for wheelchair accessibility. We also installed a concrete ramp for easier access to the park and an accessible swing set to better support a person with a disability. The City of Mississauga installed armrests on the benches.

The project was completed in July 2016 and is now fully accessible to persons with disabilities.

Here is a map to the location of the park.

We applied for an Enabling Accessibility Grant from the Federal Government to upgrade our existing Rotary Park (near tenth Line and Tacc Drive in Mississauga) to make it more accessible for persons with disabilities.

The total cost was $ 30,000 with the Federal Government contributing $ 19,500, the Rotary Club of Mississauga Meadowvale $ 7,500 and a $ 3,000 in-kind contribution from the contractor ‘Serve Construction’. No district grants were applied for.
